Shepherd Wellness Community
Transportation Services
We offer HIV positive
individuals round-trip transportation, by
appointment only for:
- SWC programs
- PATF Food Pantry
- Wellness and health related programs offered by
other local AIDS service organizations
There is no charge
for this service and tips will not be accepted.
You must call the
SWC office at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment. The more
advance notice you can give us the greater the possibility we can accommodate
your needs. The transportation coordinator can be reached at 412.683.4477.
Scheduling is always
done on a first-come, first-served basis.
We do not provide
transportation for post surgery or emergency medical needs, moving personal
property, shopping trips, personal errands or to persons who are not
HIV+.
For daytime appointments,
van service is limited to the metropolitan Pittsburgh area. For evening
program events, service is limited to the area designated on the map
below.

If you do not live
within the defined area, but can arrange transportation to downtown
or another prearranged pickup point within the area, we can still be
of service. Out of area pickup points are: Downtown, Oakland and East
Liberty.
Guests are not permitted
but a caregiver may accompany members.
Members traveling
with children under age four must provide a baby seat that meets industry
standards and install it when boarding the van.
Members must complete
an Member Information
Form (137 KB) and also read and agree to our passenger
policies. (In order to download the form, you must have Adobe®
Acrobat® Reader. You may down load it free from the
link below.)
Members who fail
to show up for a scheduled pickup or who do not notify the SWC office
of a canceled pickup within at least twelve hours of the appointment
will not be eligible for future service.
The transportation
coordinator can be reached at 412.683.4477.
